Aging tenants like Ava are getting evicted in LA with nowhere to go. On the Westside, many accommodations are supposed to be available for people like her, but they are not actually available at all.
One thing Ava can do is rent a small storage unit and move her most important possessions there, preferably wrapped to protect from water, heat, cold, rodents and insects. Other options, like shelters, drop-in centers, riding the subway, or living in a tent are much easier when you can travel light. (BTW, some people try to live in storage units, but it's risky and doesn't last long.)
